ILYA History

"The fellowship found in the Inland Lake Yachting Association is a remarkable blend of great friendships and spirited competition. It is the hallmark of every regatta and club race in scow sailing. Few sports can boast of world-class competition and world-class fun at the same championship events." Dr. Tom Hodgson, The History of the Inland Lake Yachting Association.

The ILYA is pleased to present the following excerpts from our Centennial history book written by Dr. Tom Hodgson. For over 100 years the Inland Lake Yachting Association has been organizing yacht racing and great social events for sailors of all ages. In this Centennial book ILYA Historian, Past Commodore, Past Admiral of the Bilge Pullers and Principle Race Officer, Tom Hodgson lays out the first one hundred years of great ILYA stories.
